PHILADELPHIA – University of the Sciences student-athletes posted a 3.41 grade point average (GPA) for the Spring 2018 semester, with all 12 teams achieving at least a 3.1 GPA, the athletics department announced on Thursday.
91 student-athletes, 63 percent of the department, earned Dean's List Honors, with nine posting a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Those nine were Shane Bishop (women's cross country/track & field), Michael Fox (men's basketball), Mikaela Giuliani (women's basketball), Will Gregorits (men's basketball), Alyx McKiernan (women's basketball), Karla Miletic (women's tennis), 91 Brittany Rickard (softball), Danielle Taylor (women's volleyball) and Brooke Witmer (women's volleyball).
Men's tennis (3.70 GPA) narrowly beat out women's basketball (3.69) for highest team GPA in the Spring 2018 Semester.
Softball's 3.60 team GPA came next, followed closely by women's cross country and women's volleyball both posting a 3.58.
Men's golf (3.49) and women's track and field (3.44) both were above the Dean's List threshold of 3.40.
Rounding out the team GPAs were women's tennis (3.32), baseball (3.25), men's cross country (3.17), men's track and field (3.15) and men's basketball (3.12)
