NEW HAVEN, Conn. – University of the Sciences sophomore Mitchel Storb was one of eight members named to the 2017-18 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf All-Academic Team on Monday afternoon.
In order to qualify for the CACC All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term, have been enrolled as a full-time student at the member institution for a minimum of two semesters, have been a second year student-athlete at the member institution and must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
Storb currently boasts a 3.73 cumulative GPA through two his first two semesters as a Biology major at USciences.
On the course, Storb has been in the lineup for all four of the Devils' events so far this fall. Twice he has shot a season-best round of 82; on Sept. 1 to place fifth at the season-opening tri-match against Jefferson and Concordia and then in the second round of the Charger Challenge on Sept. 24.
Storb also improved on his finish from the 2016-17 CACC Championship as he recorded a two-day total of 174 to place 40th at the 2017-18 Championship on Oct. 1-2.
University of the Sciences closes out its fall season this weekend when it hosts the Devils Classic at Bluestone Country Club in Blue Bell, Pa. on Oct. 14-15.
