Men's Basketball Earns NABC Team Academic Excellence Award

Kansas City, Mo. - The University of the Sciences men's basketball team was recognized for their stellar work off the hardwood and in the classroom. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the fifth annual Team Academic Excellence Awards, created by the NABC Committee on Academics. These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team across all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2016-17 season.

The Devils had multiple individuals earn separate accolades on the season, including CACC All-Academic honors. USciences is one of two teams from the CACC to earn this national academic award. This group has continued to improve in the gym and in the classroom by raising their GPA each of the last four semesters. The Devils men's basketball team finished the 2016-17 year with a 3.2 GPA and a semester average of 3.34 through the spring of 2017 semester. All USciences student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.348 for the 2016-17 academic year.
