Nguyen Wins Twice as Men’s Tennis Falls at Post

WATERBURY, Conn. – Nathan Nguyen earned both of the University of the Sciences men's tennis team's points in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Post on Wednesday.  

He and partner Borna Novak won at No. 1 doubles for the second day in a row, defeating their opponents 8-5 to move over .500 on the season at 8-7.   

The two both made their way up the record book in the process, with Nguyen moving into a tie for second with his 41st career victory, while Novak is now 10th all-time with 29.   

Nguyen then battled through a 7-6 (11-9), 6-3 triumpch at the No. 2 singles to complete his unbeaten day.  

USciences was competitive in the other singles matches, with Sahas Chandragiri winning 10 games at the fourth flight and Evan Halperin taking seven at the fifth, but the Devils were not able to win a set in any of the other five matches.   

University of the Sciences plays for the third time in four days when it travels to Le Moyne for the first of two straight non-conference matches on Saturday a 2 p.m.
