Softball Drops Doubleheader at No. 25 Georgian Court

PHILADELPHIA – The USciences softball team could not slow newly-ranked No. 25 Georgian Court in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CAC) doubleheader sweep on Wednesday afternoon. 

Gabrielle Simms recorded three hits on the day, including finishing 2-for-4 with the Devils' only run of the afternoon in the nightcap. 

The nationally-ranked Lions (22-5, 7-1 CACC) took the two games 10-0 and 9-1. 

Brittany Rickard reached base three times in game two with two walks and a hit, while Gina Pustizzi finished 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI single. 

Game one sarter Kaitlyn Gaynor went 3.1 innings without allowing an earned run, surrendering two hits with four strikeouts and a walk. 

University of the Sciences hosts two CACC doubleheaders this weekend, the first on Saturday against Felician at 12 p.m.
