FLUSHING, N.Y. – Karla MileticBorna Markusicand Jack Kosiorowskiare all seeded in the singles draw for the upcoming Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional Championships, which will be hosted at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. from Sept. 14-17. 

Progressing to the Round of 16 in 2016 and the quarterfinal in 2017, Miletic has been seeded fifth out of 142 competitors. The junior is the second-highest ranked player in the field from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), and will begin play in the tournament in the Round of 32. 

Freshmen Markusic and Kosiorowski received recognition despite their rookie status, with Markusic receiving one of the eight unseeded positions in the main draw that consists of 24 players in the field of 135. Kosiorowski is just outside the main draw after receiving the fifth qualifying seed. 

Receiving a bye into the main draw, Markusic starts in the Round of 64, while Kosiorowki receives a bye into the second qualifying round and will have to win a match to get into the main draw. 

Also competing this weekend from the women's team are Abbygail GamarnikDanielle ParanStephanie Mazurek, Elkanah Linderand Julia James, while Sahas ChandragiriNathan NguyenBorna Novakand Rakesh Chamalawill represent the men. All nine begin play in the first qualifying round and will have to win two matches to reach the main draw. 

On the doubles side, USciences will be represented by the pairs of Gamarnik/Miletic, James/Linder, Mazurek/Paran, Novak/Markusic, Nguyen/Kosiorowski and Chandragiri/Evan Halperin. All six duos start in the Round of 64, with women's field consisting of 65 teams and the men's field consisting of 60. 

Notably, all five USciences' pairs to compete last year won a match, with Miletic/Gamarnik reaching the quarterfinals and Nguyen/Novak making it to the Round of 16.
