The University of the Sciences names Angie Smith as the Interim Head Coach of the Women's Volleyball team. Coach Smith is replacing former Head Coach Richard Saunders, who is stepping down to attend to personal matters. Coach Smith has been part of the USciences volleyball program since 2014-2015 serving as a volunteer coach. She has 18 years of coaching experience at the middle school, high school and collegiate levels.
Coach Smith, who is originally from Michigan, has been involved with volleyball since middle school. She played four years at Comstock Park High School receiving numerous varsity letters and all-conference honors. In 2005, Angie made the move to the East Coast and quickly immersed herself in the volleyball community. Prior to joining USciences, her collegiate coaching experience includes stops at Rutgers-Camden and Rowan University. Smith also has been coaching High School Club volleyball, working with East Coast Crush Volleyball Club (2008-2012) and currently with Quandomania Volleyball Club. In addition to her duties as a coach with Quandomania, she acts as the Social Media and Communications Director. Smith is still extremely active as a player while serving as the Head Coach and Captain of the adult women's club, Hi-Ya!
Smith graduated from Grand Valley State University in Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration. Smith currently, works for Inspira Health Network as the Assistant Director of the Inspira Foundation Gloucester County.
