WILMINGTON, Del. – The top-four Devils to finish each recorded their fastest time of the season, highlighted by Regan Asay picking up her second top-five finish of the year as the University of the Sciences women's cross country team finished in the top-half of the field at the Goldey-Beacom Fall Invitational held at Carousel Park on Friday morning.
Asay recorded her best finish of the season by placing third in field of 65, navigating the 5k course in 21:49.0 for her fastest time of the year.
Bridget Houghton missed on her best finish of the season by one position as she crossed 15th with a season-best time of 23:19.6.
Freshman Paige Jacobs' season-best time meant a new collegiate personal record of 23:46.1 as she placed 23rd.
Olivia DeLorenzo rounded out the group of four Devils who ran their fastest time this year as she crossed in 24:01.0.
Emily Brand finished in the top-half of the field in 29th with a time of 24:49.7.
Rounding out USciences' runners on the day was Sara Skoritowski, who completed the course in 28:11.8.
University of the Sciences placed fourth out of eight teams with 92 points, narrowly missing out on third place due to a tiebreaker. The Devils were 10 points clear of fifth place Caldwell.
Bloomfield won the event by 60 points with a total of 24 points.
University of the Sciences competes in the second of three straight weekends next Friday, Sept. 29 at 2:30 p.m. at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
