The University of the Sciences Athletics Department announced the hiring of Kyle Davis ESWM’13 as head baseball coach in August 2018.
In addition to his role as head baseball coach, he also serves as an admissions counselor.
In his first season at the helm, USciences set a Division II-era program record with 17 victories, more than doubling both its overall and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win total from the previous year.
Davis returned to his alma mater after spending the previous four seasons as head coach of Valley Forge Military Academy & College, where he took over as the program’s first-ever head coach prior to its inaugural 2015 season.
Tasked with building the program from the ground up, he led Valley Forge to a 19-18 record and a playoff appearance in just its second season.
In 2018, the program recorded its second-highest win total with 13 victories.
Davis is University of the Sciences’ all-time hits leader with 170.
He was a four-year captain and is also atop the program’s annals with 222 total bases, 99 walks and nine sacrifice flies.
Davis is also tied for third in program history with 32 doubles, one behind the all-time leaders, and is third all-time with 97 runs scored and 144 games played and fourth with seven triples. He also ranks in the top-10 in on-base percentage (.433), RBI (74) and stolen bases (25).
He is one of three players in program history to be named All-CACC twice, as he was selected to the First Team in 2011 and the Second Team in 2013.
Davis is certified by the American Baseball Coaches Association. In addition to his role at Valley Forge, he has also served as a head coach and instructor for Tri-State Arsenal Travel Baseball for the last four years.
Prior to his time at Valley Forge, Davis spent one season at USciences as an assistant coach.
