NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two more double-doubles led to University of the Sciences' Connor Murphy repeating as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week.
The freshman extended his streak of double-doubles to four while leading both games in rebounding as he averaged 17.0 points and 16.5 rebounds per contest. He did so shooting while shooting 16-of-26 (61.5 percent) from the floor.
Murphy's 18 boards in last Monday's win over Lincoln were double the amount of any other player, and he added 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting for his third consecutive double-double.
Murphy then led all players with 20 points on 10-of-17 shooting and 15 rebounds against Bridgeport on Saturday.
He currently leads USciences in both scoring in rebounding with 14.8 points and 13.6 boards per game, the latter of which leads the CACC and ranks third in all of Division II. He also ranks third in the league with a 64.0 field goal percentage.
University of the Sciences men's basketball wraps up a three-game home-stand this Saturday, Nov. 30 when it hosts No. 10 Daemen at 3 p.m.
