Men’s Tennis Loses 4-3 for the Second Time in Three Matches, Falling to Deamen on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA – The University of the Sciences men's tennis team suffered its second 4-3 loss in three matches, falling to Daemen on Sunday afternoon at the Hamlin Center.

Daemen won all three doubles matches, despite two of the three being decided by just two games, proving to be the difference in the match. 

Five of the six matches were decided in straight sets, with Nathan Nguyen prevailing in three sets for the second time in three matches for his 28th career win, tied for eighth in program history.

He came back from a 2-6 first set to win the second 6-3, before prevailing in the third 7-5 for his fourth victory of the season. 

Borna Novak won his first dual match of the season, 6-2, 6-2 at the third flight. 

Borna Markusic was a 6-4, 6-1 victor at No. 1 singles, improving to .500 with his team-best seventh win. 

University of the Sciences hosts another non-conference opponent, St. Thomas Aquinas, this Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
