CHESTER, Pa. – The University of the Sciences track and field program opened its second outdoor track and field season at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational on Friday.
Sophie Hockran broke her own school record in the discus with a mark of 32.06m, which placed her 16th in the field of 32.
Chloe Georges also recorded a collegiate-best in the discus with a toss of 27.72m.
Fellow thrower freshman McKayla Kelly placed 18th out of 48 in the shot after her furthest throw traveled 10.35m.
On the track, Gabrielle Moss crossed 21st out of 50 after running the 5000m in 20.13.24.
On the men's side Johnathan Epstein led a large contingent in the 5000m with a time of 15:56, the 52nd-fastest time in the field of 110.
The second day and final day of the of the Danny Curran Invitational is tomorrow.
