Multiple Devils Earn Points at Rowan’s Oscar Moore Invitational

GLASSBORO, N.J. – Several University of the Sciences track and field student-athletes earned points at Rowan's Oscar Moore Invitational on Friday, highlighted by William Hallinan and Koy Connors both recording second-place finishes. 

Hallinan crossed second in a field of the 31 in the 1500m, finishing in 4:09.16 to earn eight points. 

Connors also became the first USciences student-athlete to ever compete in the pole vault, clearing 3.2m for a second place finish in the field of six. He also set a school record in the javelin, with his furthest mark measuring at 39.73 to compile nine points between the two events.   

Chloe Georges became the first USciences female to ever compete in the javelin, recording a throw of 19.65m. She was also in the top-half of the field in the shot put, placing 12th out of 24, while also setting a new collegiate-best of 28.75m in the discus.

Sophie Hockran missed out on earning a point in the discus by one spot, placing ninth with a mark of 30.84. 

McKayla Kelly became the first Devil to clear 11 meters in the shot put, which put her in seventh place for two points. 

Johnathan Epstein placed in the top-half of the field in 3000m, crossing sixth out of 16 for three points after completing the event in 9:23.99, while Christina Holmes was in the top-half of the field in the 400m, crossing seventh in a school-record 1:03.26 for two points. 

University of the Sciences competes at the two-day Osprey Open, hosted by Stockton, next Friday and Saturday, April 12-13.
