CALDWELL, N.J. – The University of the Sciences softball team closed out its season at Caldwell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
The third-place Cougars took game one 12-0, before edging the Devils 2-0 in the nightcap.
Gaynor ended her time at USciences by throwing one final complete game in the nightcap to move into fourth in program history with 48 for her career.
After a single and a triple led to Caldwell's lone earned run in the first, Gaynor proceeded to limit the Cougars to just three hits in their final five at-bats.
Third baseman Lauren Davis kept it a one-run game by throwing out a runner at home in the second, and the Caldwell could not manage another run until scoring an unearned one in the sixth.
University of the Sciences would get multiple runners on in three at-bats, but the Devils could never advance a runner to third.
Olivera closed out her career with hits in both games, while Colandrea and Rickard both walked in the nightcap.
Davis led the offense in game two, reaching base twice with a hit and a walk, something Gabrielle Simms did in game one.
