Women’s Tennis Announces 2019-20 Schedule

2019-20 USciences Women's Tennis Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – The University of the Sciences women's tennis team announced its 2019-20 schedule on Thursday.

The campaign will commence on Saturday, August 31 at The College of New Jersey's (TCNJ) Doubles Kickoff Tournament, which will feature TCNJ, St. Thomas Aquinas and Southern Virginia.

University of the Sciences' home opener is on Saturday, Sept. 7 when the Devils welcome Le Moyne to the Hamlin Center.

USciences then travels to the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional Championships from Sept. 13-16.

The Devils return from that to open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at Jefferson on Saturday, Sept. 21.

USciences' CACC home-opener comes against defending regular season champion and CACC Tournament champion Wilmington on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The Devils travel to the two other CACC regular season champions, facing off with Goldey-Beacom on Oct. 1 and Concordia on Oct. 15.

Highlights of the non-conference schedule include hosting St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday, Oct. 14 and an Oct. 20 trip to Division I Temple.

That will be one of three matches against a Division I opponent for USciences, as two of the Devils' four matches in the spring are at Mount St. Mary's (Feb. 22) and Delaware (April 5).

University of the Sciences women's tennis tied a program record by advancing to the CACC Semifinals for the third year in a row in 2018.

The Devils return six student-athletes from that team, including two-time CACC Player of the Year Karla Miletic.

Miletic is currently tied for first in program history with 42 career singles wins, and third with 39 career doubles victories.

Fellow senior Julia James is also in top-six in program history in both singles and doubles wins, while junior Danielle Paran ranks tied for eighth in doubles victories.

Sophomore Stephanie Mazurek, who led the team with a 12-5 singles mark in 2018, also returns.

Rounding out the returners are Gabrielle Soriano and Han Le, who went a combined 9-1 in CACC play in 2018.
