Volleyball Sweeps Post for Ninth Win, Tied for the Most in the Program Since 2014

WATERBURY, Conn. – The University of the Sciences volleyball team swept Post (25-14, 25-18, 25-20) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup at the Drubner Center on Saturday afternoon. 

USciences' ninth overall win is tied for its most since 2014, while the Devils' sixth CACC victory is their most since 2015. 

Tori Wright led all players with 13 kills on .407 hitting and fell one dig shy of Lauren Lim's match-high 12 digs for her third consecutive double-double. 

Lim also posted a match-high four service aces, tying a season-best. 

Jade Bryant was in double-figures with 11 kills, while Natalia Velez added eight. 

Velez also tied Kerrigan Clem with a team-high two blocks, who added four kills on .429 hitting. 

University of the Sciences hit .186 on the afternoon, while holding Post to a -.043 hitting percentage with more than double the amount of kills, 37-18. 

Angeli Roman Medina and Caelin Jaskot split the setting duties with 21 and 12 assists, respectively. 

University of the Sciences scored the first four points of the afternoon en route to leading throughout the first set. 

The Devils trailed 3-5 early in the second, but five unanswered that was started and ended by Wright to make the score 17-11 gave them control for a 2-0 advantage.  

USciences had to erase a four-point deficit in the third, and the Devils were trailing 17-18 before ending the match with eight of the final 10 points, highlighted by three Lim aces and capped by back-to-back Wright kills. 

University of the Sciences returns home to host Wilmington this Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.
