BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The University of the Sciences women's cross country ran its first 6K of the season on Saturday afternoon at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
Elizabeth Sauers finished in the top fifth of the deep field of 355, placing 61st with a time of 25:00. Already holding three of the top 12 6K times in program history, the junior narrowly missed out on cracking the top 25 once again by just 10 seconds.
Gabby Moss narrowly missed out on a position in the top third of the field, finishing 123rd in 25:48.
Regan Asay was next to cross, coming in at 27:34.
Rounding out USciences' day was Dayna Smerina, who navigated the course in 32:53.
University of the Sciences takes next weekend off before prepping for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship one final time on Oct. 13 at the Jack St. Clair Memorial hosted at Belmont Plateau, site of the CACC Championship. Race time is set for 12:15 p.m. for the women, with the men set to follow at 1:00 p.m.
